Conference 2022 – Call for Papers
NZEALS invites proposals that address our conference theme and engage delegates in thoughtful discussion. We welcome contributions by emerging researchers, new leaders, and middle leaders.
Information for presenters
The conference will be held with a concern for your safety, and will be subject to the government health regulations and University of Waikato guidelines current at the time. All delegates will need proof of full vaccination.
For a successful conference, we need a multitude of voices, and one of them is yours.
This is an invitation to submit an abstract or outline for one of our breakout groups. These are in a range of formats, lasting around 50 minutes, designed to enable attendees to participate, debate and enhance their understandings of leadership in education. They include:
- Papers presenting formally or informally undertaken research
- Leadership stories presented by a single person or a group
- Workshops or facilitated discussions exploring leadership issues, dilemmas, challenges and ways forward
All presentations should be within our theme of Tūrangawaewae and engage fellow delegates in thoughtful discussion: attending this conference is part of a leadership journey for us all.
We particularly welcome contributions by emerging researchers, new leaders, and middle leaders across the education sector.
Tūrangawaewae
Tūrangawaewae is a Māori term for the places where we feel greatest allegiance, belonging, empowerment and connection. Tūrangawaewae constitutes the physical, emotional and spiritual foundation on which we stand (tūranga = a place to stand, waewae = feet).
As we join together on Tainui land at the University of Waikato, it is appropriate that our conference kōrero should focus on the places where we stand as leaders and the platforms upon which we lead. We acknowledge the proverb - Ka mua, ka muri: look back to move forward - acknowledging what has brought us to this place, what has helped us to stand in these times of challenge, and what will empower us in our future leadership journey.
Please submit your abstract using the form below.
You will be informed about acceptance within 1 month of your submission. Submissions will close on 1st June 2022.
Please note that all presenters will need to have proof of vaccination to be able to attend the conference.
