Editorial – Thank you, Murray Fletcher

Murray Fletcher, our wonderful editor, has decided that it’s time to park his editorial pen. He took on editorship of Leading Lights in 2020 – a significant year for reaching out to educational leaders through digital media. In the years since then he has not only sourced significant articles for us to read, but added his own pieces of philosophy and life-enhancing thoughts. He has shared his world-view with his readers and enabled us to think more deeply about our personal and professional lives.

Those of you who have met Murray in other contexts will not have been surprised at his editorial stance. As a workshop facilitator and learning coach he focuses on creating dialogue through rich learning conversations. He connects with narratives shared by educational leaders and, in his Doctoral study, explored the inner aspects of Being with leaders.

Some of you will have observed Murray the NZEALS conference facilitator at work – both in his ‘home’ conference in Dunedin in 2016, and later in Hamilton in 2022. Here he brought us together as NZEALS whanau and each day wove the threads of the conference together.
