Abstract
This session guides school leaders in strengthening their capacity to lead with humanity. In today’s unpredictable world, the H.U.M.A.N. approach for educational leadership helps leaders honour the past, embrace the present, and stay true to why we lead. This way of leading offers practical strategies to cultivate well-being, authentic connection, and a deep sense of belonging across the learning community.
The H.U.M.A.N. approach invites leaders to:
* Hone their compassion,
*Understand their identities as leaders,
*Make meaning for others while motivated by a vision
*Anticipate and acknowledge the unknown
*Nurture trust to create a sense of belonging
This session shares early findings from 16 interviews with educational leaders from around the world, guided by two questions: What does it mean to lead with a H.U.M.A.N. approach, and how does it shape daily practice in diverse contexts? Drawing on the wisdom from these interviews, participants will engage in ways to support their own growth, translating big ideas into grounded, actionable practices. Ultimately, this session invites leaders to reconnect with our shared humanity, while leading schools where all learners are seen, valued, and able to thrive.
