We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful Tūranga, placed at the heart of our city, Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Three days of connection, collaboration and learning are planned, amidst the stunning backdrop of our garden city.

Leading Well -------------------------- Leading Together ----------------------------- Leading with Optimism

Our conference begins with your registration on either the Sunday evening or Monday morning, with our mahi (learning) beginning at 9am on Monday morning.

Monday’s theme is Leading Well

At the heart of this day is the work of Dr. Simon Breakspear where he presents his newest work ‘The Pruning Principle’, following onto his work on ‘Rethinking Resistance’.

On each of our days our learning is further supported by the opportunity to hear from educators around Aotearoa and the world, presenting their research and findings to us.

Catering is provided by the social enterprise ‘Thrive’. You can learn more about them here.

At the end of the first day, you have the opportunity to join a cultural walk guided by mana whenua. There are limited places available, so it is on a first-in first served basis. The walk is approximately 1.5 hours in duration and will leave from Tūranga at 3.30pm.

The option for this tour will be available when you register.

Monday night is a time for you to get out and enjoy our beautiful city. There is a plethora of top quality restaurants within the city and the committee is on hand to provide suggestions and to ensure that those who want it, have company.

Tuesday’s theme is Leading Together

Our day includes Keynote presentations from Joce Nuttall and Deborah Wood, with practitioner stories weaved throughout the day.

Tuesday night could possibly be the Conference highlight. We will be wined and dined in the Great Hall https://www.artscentre.org.nz/venue-hire/the-great-hall/

Our caterers for the evening are the social enterprise ‘Can Do’ caterers. You can read more about them here.

After dinner we will be treated to ‘not to be missed’ surprise entertainment.

Wednesday’s theme is Leading with Optimism

Jacoba Matapo will present to us, and further practitioner stories. Our ‘under wraps’ speaker to close our conference is not to be missed!

Our three days together ends at 2.30pm, to allow those who need to travel to get away safely.
