LEADING LIGHTS Issue 2 | 2021
From the President’s Pen
Kia ora tātou
It is with great pleasure that I pen a brief message as National President of NZEALS. I consider myself truly priveleged to serve the educational leadership community of New Zealand in this way.
NZEALS continues to support educational leaders in New Zealand in as many effective ways as possible. The Society’s activities are usually directed by the identified needs of our members. You will note that the society continues to run the online forums which are proving particularly popular and useful to our membership.
Last year we postponed the NZEALS conference order to ensure the safety of our members during the Covid pandemic. I am pleased to inform you that the National Council has made the decision to reschedule a conference for September 2022. Further information about the conference will be shared later in the year to allow members and nonmembers to plan their professional learning and development activities for 2022.
I urge members to participate where possible in as many of the regional activities. These activities are planned by regional committees and advertised on the Society’s website. Should you wish to have your place engage in additional activities simply contact your regional President. It is our intention to have the regions as responsive as possible to the needs of members.
I wish you well as you continue to lead the learning of the students.

National President
