Our NZEALS biennial conference is back on the calendar: planning is under way to meet in Hamilton on 7-9 September 2022. Our boutique scale of conference encourages people to come together to inter-connect and share their leadership experience. It’s a space for holding generative conversations, engaging with relevant research and hearing insightful speakers.

Through our theme of Tūrangawaewae we will explore ways of being and belonging in Aotearoa leadership spaces. This is a focus which has already stimulated thoughtful discussion in our 2021 online leadership forums.

We extend a warm welcome to all educational leaders across the education sectors, and particularly invite aspirant leaders, middle leaders, team leaders, leaders of learning - the list is endless - to join our kōrero.

At present, we're collecting expressions of interest in attending the conference. The indicative cost – including a conference dinner at Hobbiton – is expected to be around $750 per person. There will be special rates for NZEALS members, and for groups attending from the same school or ECE centre.

To express an interest in registering for NZEALS 2022, please fill in the form. This puts you under no obligation to register, but it will enable you to join with us in planning the shape and content of the conference. Our aim is to co-create the conference with the participants.

Importantly, please put aside funding from your professional development budget to enable you and your colleagues to attend. We will only run the conference if it is safe to do so, and in the event of a cancellation, registration fees will be refunded, minus a small admin fee.
